QUEEN CARNIVAL.

OPERA HOUSE FESTIVAL. A unique opportunity of seeing four entertaining one-act plays presented by the Wanganui Repertory Theatre in aid of the Garrison Band' candidate, Miss B. Oakley, will bo offered at the Opera House tonight. The first production is a ' mystery play, “A Voice Said Goodnight,” by Roland Pertwec. Then follows “Afternoon,” by Phillip Johnson. The next presentation “Villa For Sale,” by Sacha Guitry, a most amusing and modern comedy translated from tho French. The final presentation is a Cockney drama, “Op-o-Me-Thumb,” by E. P. Ppyce, This play is distinctly human in its appeal and has proved immensely popular wncroyer it has been attempted. Those' taking part in the various productions are Mesdames. R. A. Howie, G. Wall, D. Abernethy, S. Rankin. R. E. Cutherbertsoii,' L. Gilberd, B. Hoar, Misses E. Pengelly, E. Newton, J.- Manning and Messrs W. Parker, Paul Labain, Erie Lind and Erie Naumann. . The Wanganui Society is wellknown throughout New Zealand for the high standard of its productions and it is anticipated that its kindness in coining to Palmerston North in order to assist a local effort' will be appreciated by the people attending in large numbers. Popular prices are being charged and those who cannot attend at tho opening may view two ecm-, ; plctc plays at half-price. Reserves are at (the Central Booking Office.
