Eorty Phoenix Island palms were this week planted along the sides of the drive which is later to be opened up in the Botanical Gardens adjoining the Esplanade. Obtained from Napier, they are healthy four-year-old specimens, and when they attain maturity should present a strikingly beautiful effect.
