FOXTON

(From Our Own Correspondent.) PONTON, Nov. 22. Mies V. Barron, of Dunedin, is visiting her brother, Mr D. It. Barron. Mr S. F. Prentice is still seriously ill in the Palmerston North Hospital. A considerable improvement is reported in the condition of Mrs J. G. Honore, who is an inmate of a private hospital. In the Town Hall on Tuesday a prosperity fair, organised by the members of All Saints’ Church, was held. The opening ceremony was performed by the Mayor and the scene inside the hall was an attractive one. In the evening a concort was held, including a display of club swinging by the members of a special class which is attached to the Palmerston North Y.M.C.A.

Yesterday afternoon, four rinks from Foxton paid an official visit to the Shannon Bowling Club and played enjoyable games. The aggregate scores were: Shannon, 75 points; Foxton, 69. A further game for the Haydoek Feathers was played on the local green, when the challengers— Mearston and Trueman (skip) beat Thomas and Rooie (skip) by 26 points to 10.
