AVOODVILLE, Nov. 22.
A former resident of AVoodville, Airs Sarah Ann Gilbert, passed away lit the residence of her daughter, Airs Short, ltemueia, Auckland, on Saturday. Airs Gilbert, with her sister and two brothers, arrived in Now Zealand nearly 60 years ago, landing at AA’ellington from the sailing ship Jane Howell, She married the late 'Thomas Gilbert 18 months later. Their first home was in the Ohariu Valiev, AVellington, where they lived for several years before moving to AVoodville in 1883, where they occupied an hotel for some years, later taking a farm on the Napier Road, where her husband predeceased her 18 years ago. Airs Gilbert had had very indifferent health for several years, her condition becoming worse in the last six months and the end was not unexpected. There are left to mourn their loss three sons —Alessrs G. AV. Gilbert and N. J. Gilbert (Woodville) and AA 7 . Gilbert, Birmingham, England, and also a daughter, Mrs Kffic L. Short, of Rcmucra, Auckland.
