FRIENDLY SOCIETIES.
LOYAL MAN A WATT! LODGE. Loyal Manawatu Lodge held its fortnightly meeting last night. There was a good attendance. The Feilding Lodge wrote accepting the challenge to a game of cards for the Salek Cup. One candidate was initiated into the order. The sick visitors reported on the condition of members on the sick list. The bowls teams had played two shield matches since the last lodge night and had one win and one loss. Bro. Bruce gave a report of the business transacted at a meeting of the board of directors held in Wellington, for which he received the thanks of the lodge. The officers for the ensuing term are as.follow:—N.G., Bro. TurnbulJ; V.G., Bro. Carter; E.S., Bro. Mullaney; auditor, Bro. Scroggs; district book examiner, Bro. Scroggs; L.M., Bro. Jane; U.F.S.D. board, Bros. Watson and Sharman; lodge management committee, Bros. Dawick, Farrer and Northey. Bros. Watson, Dilks, and Northey were nominated for District Management Committee. Bro. D. J. Rogers was selected by the lodge as a candidate for the office of District Deputy Master.
