PETER PAN BEATEN.

DUKE OF GLOUCESTER PLATE. SYDNEY, Nov. 22. Delightful weather favoured the A.J.C. meeting held at Randwick to-day in honour of the visit of the Duke of Gloucester. The Duke was the guest of the chairman of the committee at luncheon on the course.

In two previous starts prior to the Carterton meeting, the three-year-old _ Lord Hereford had shown no form, and his being installed favourite came as a surrpise. He is down to compete at Levin to-mor-row, and patrons will be able to see_ whether he was worthy of the position in the betting market accorded him at Carterton.
