OBITUARY.

REV. J. L. PATTULLO.

. The death of Rev. James Leburn Pattullo in his 83rd year occurred at the residence of his daughter, Mi's L. E. Spratt, last evening. He was born in Perthshire (Scotland) and entered the Edinburgh University and studied for law, and for some years practised with his cousin in Dundee. In the early ’Bo’s he came to New Zealand and engaged in farming in Otago. In the ’9o’s he entered the Presbyterian Church, serving at Tauranga, Waihi, and Whangarei, and retired from the ministry in 1916. For the past eleven years he had resided with Ins daughter in Waihi. MR J. 4VHITE, M.B.E. Per Press Association. BLENHEIM, Nov. 22. The death has occurred of Mr Charles White, M.8.E., J.P., a wellknown old settler, aged 83. He was a generous supporter of the Methodist Church and charities and patriotic funds, and was held in the highest esteem throughout the province. LATE MR A. 11. BAHOUT. The funeral of Mr Assad Roger Bahout, of Cuba Street, was held on Wednesday, when tffere was a representative gathering of mourners, indicating how highly the late Mr Bahout had been respected in many walks of life. The service at St. Patrick’s Church was conducted by Rev. Father Herliliy and that at the graveside by Father Herliliy and a student from the Highden Seminary. Miss Cora Bartlett, L.A.8., played “The Dead March’’ at the service at the church. The pallbearers were Messrs Joseph and Roger Bahout (nephews), B. Lahood (Hastings), Francis Karen (Raurimu), F. Coury (Raetihi), P. Anthony (Hastings) and M. Joseph (Hastings). Many telegrams of condolence were received, coming from all over the Dominion, while floral tributes and messages of sympathy were received from a large number of friends in various parts of New Zealand, including an expression of sympathy from the member for Palmerston (Mr J. A. Nash!.
