QUEEN CARNIVAL.
GARRISON BAND EFFORT TO-NIGHT A novel event on behalf of the Garrison Band candidate. Miss Beryl Oakley, takes place to-night at tho residence of Mr S. R. Waugh, of Chaytor Street, in tho nature of an open air dance. Dancing will be indulged in on the spacious and specially lit lawns amidst the most charming surroundings of these magnificent grounds. Should tho weather prove wet, the danco will take place in tho private dance hall on the same property, and patrons can be sure of enjoying themselves under entirely now conditions. Icecreams and soft drinks will be available for sale in specially built stalls, set in snug little corners ■■ of tho. picturesque grounds. Tho special lighting arrangements have been carried out by the staff of the Palmerston . North City Council, and with' tho coloured lights judiciously displayed the grounds will present a subdued effect. Always, seeking for something no-* the Garrison Band committee commends the novel night’s .entertainment to its, many supporters. 1
