WAR DISABILITIES.

(To the Editor.)

Sir, —It was my fortune or misfortune to go to the front to help protect New Zealand and those living in it, including school children. Owing to this patriotic spirit certain injuries resulted, causing lameness. One could put up with this, but to experience school children mimicking and jeering at this disability makes one feel that it is time to draw the attention of teachers to this matter. Then they might instil into these children that if respect cannot be shown at least they might behave decently to those who went to war for them. We have just been lauding up a 50 years’ record of education in Palmerston North and the wonderful benefits derived. If the above is one of the benefits let us have another 50 years along the same lines and war cripples will not worry over these trifles.—l am, etc., CORPORAL.
