Saying “thank you” to a tree is much, easier than telling a hard luck story about drought conditions, says a TJ.S. Fish and Game Commissioner, Mr A. L. Grover. Explains the Commissioner: “Without our forests, which sop up water during periods of abundant rainfall and release it slowly in times of drought, Maine would be dry and parched land. Thus we have abundant watersheds, which fill thousands of brooks, streams, rivers, lakes and ponds, to help make our State ‘the playground of the nation.’ ”
