BULLS.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) . BULLS, Nov. 20. The following will represent the Bulls Cricket Club against Hnlcombe, at Halcombe, during the week-end: O’Connell, Reeve, Sadler, Meads, Lewis, Hancock, Montgomery, Huddleston, Cole, Stock and Jeffries. Cars leave at 12.45 p.m. There was a fair attendance at the meeting called on Monday evening by the Town Board to arrange for a Christmas carnival. Mr R. Montgomery was appointed hon. secretary, and Mr G. H. Archer rc-elccted hon. treasurer. Mr Archer read the balance sheet of last year’s carnival, the funds showing a small credit balance. It was resolved to ask Mr Jas. Bull to again perform the opening ceremony. The carnival will open on Tuesday', December 18, and will conclude on Monday, December 24. The tentative programme includes 0-pen air band concerts, sports on the Domain, a baby show and children’s fancy dress parade, nigger minstrel show and community singing, and novelty stunts and competitions. The streets and' business premises will bo illuminated, and greenery will be distributed for decorative purposes. Sub-committees will go fully into each detail, and will report at a meeting to be held on Tuesday evening. Mr P. Hazelwood, who was injured in a motor accident recently, was able to return borne on Monday from Palmerston iSoit 1 H Tho t rain of the past few days had benefited the pastures greatly, as w'O.l as - lieving the water shortage m .town and country.
