TASMAN YACHT RACE.

POSTPONEMENT REQUESTED. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Nov. 21. A request that the start of the forthcoming yacht race from Auckland to Melbourne be postponed from tlie scheduled date, December 8, to about December 23, has been made on behalf of Mr J. W. S. McArthur, owner of the 80-ton schooner yacht Morewa, to the Akarana Yacht Club, which is controlling the contest. The impossibility of having the new sails ordered for the yacht ready by December 8 has prompted the request, which has yet to be considered by the Yacht Club.
