(Frmo Our Own Correspondent.) WOODVILLE, Nov. 23.

The fourth birthday of the Papatawa Women’s Institute was celebrated week. The following programme was rendered :—Community singing under the leadership of Mrs J. MacCormick: songs'by Mrs Schroder, and “Both Ways,” a play by members oi the Papatawa Women’s Institute and Mr J. Sinclair, the ladies taking part being Mrs J. Mabey, Mrs W. Burlace, Misses E. and D. Hutchinson. Mr H. Hall gave two recitations and members of' the Woodville Women’s Institute a sketch, “Be Calm,” the performers in this being Mrs McNeil, Misses J. Kirkpatrick, and Cross, and Messrs J. Sinclair, L. Hurley, and F. De Malrnanche. A duet was given by Mesdames Schroder and MacCormick. After the concert programme the floor was cleared for dancing. Just before supper a birthday cake which was made and iced by Airs J. Hutchinson and her daughters was cut by Mrs Burnett, president of the Woodville Institute. In a happy little speech she expressed the best wishes of the Woodville Women’s InstitUAdiutant and Mrs Knight, who have been visiting Air and Mrs F. Shearman, have returned to their home at Linwood, Christchurch. Miss F. Redding, of Lower Hutt, has returned home after a visit to Woodville. , , , ... The annual bazaar and sale ot work in aid of the Presbyterian Church was held this week. The function was well attended and the numerous stalls were well laden and attractive. Those in charge were:— Plain sewing. Mosdames J. Gray, Kirkpatrick and Grinlinton; dolls. Junior Bible class- cakes, Mesdames J. M. Graham, C. Forbes, D. MacGregor, and Twaddle; sweets,’ senior Bible class; produce, Alesdames A. K. Boyd, C. Ware and I. MacLean- fancy work, Alisses Kirkpatrick, MacGregor and MacLcan; tearoom, Airs Hume and helpers.
