SIGNORA TETRAZINNI.
LEGAL ACTION WITHDRAWN. Signora Luisa Tetrazzini and her husband have mutually withdrawn their court actions, says a Rome message. ■ Tetrazzini, who is 19 years older than her husband, the draper’s son, Pietro Varnati, was the central figure in the courts last year. Her handsome husband was a tie seller, and captivated Tetrazzini, who withdrew from the theatre and sang only to him, but 60on after their marriage in 1926 violent quarrels separated them. The prima donna cut him out of her will, and again resorted to the thrills of the theatre. Vernati applied to the Court for an order to place her property under the care of a trustee, owing to her “prodigality mania” of lavishly distributing-her wealth to the poor. The family council disagreed with Vernati, and the Court decided in Tetrazzini’s favour but ordered a further investigation into Vernati’s claim to deprive her of civil rights.
