DEATHS OF TWO GIRLS.

VERDICT AT INQUEST. Per: Press Association. WELLINGTON, Nov. 19. The inquest on two girls, Betty Isabella Simmis and Enid Thelma Simmis, who were drowned in the Hutt River yesterday, was held this morning. The father stated that only the elder girl could swim and usually bathed at the safe part of the river but on this occasion went to a dangerous place.

The verdict was “accidentally drowned,” the Coroner remarking on the dangerous nature of the spot.
