. Motor accidents in 86 United States cities caused 8663 deaths during the first eight months of this year, , according to figures issued by the Federal Department of Commerce. The total for the corresponding period of 1933 was 7948. Between Grindelwald and Interlaken a cliff has fallen causing an avalanche of stones consisting of over 3000 cubic feet of rock. Pastures, fields, and roads were destroyed.
