METHODIST SYNOD

HOME MISSION RECOMMENDATION. At the afternoon Bossioji of the ministerial committee of the Methodist Synod yesterday, the following homo-missionary probationers were recommended to be passed in their respective years: Rev. A. 0. Jones (Waipawa) to pass in his second year, and Rev. Ray C. Patchett (Apiti) in his first year. The report of the principal of Trinity Theological College was received. "Messrs W. R. Laws and C. P. Lucas were examined by the synod as to their fitness to l>e received as candidates for the Methodist ministry. Both young men were recommended to be accepted by the ConferTlve roll call of the staff of the district revealed no objection to any minister, probationer, or home missionary as far as moral and spiritual fitness is concerned. The synod was entertained lo afternoon tea at Collinson and Cunninghame's tearooms by Mesdanies J. Cunninghame and W. B. Cameron, who were cordially thanked for their hospitality by Rev. C. M. Roberts.
