DRAINAGE BOARD’S DECISION

“The pontoon dredge moored in the Mangaore Stream is fast falling to pieces, and the machinery is almost covered with silt,” stated the overseer (Mr P. V. Tucker) in liis report to the Maker ua- Drainage Board to-day. “Some person unknown lias removed several doors, and two sheets of iron have lately been taken off the roof. “Mr F. Lang, of Shannon, asks if the board will sell the roof and walls,” the report proceeded. “He made an offer of £5 for the roof and walls only. It is very hard to keep an eye on the dredge as it must be during the night that material is remoyed.” The board decided to defer action pending a special report on the condition of the dredge and the value of machinery on it.
