TEN MILLIONS UP
SAVINGS BANK DEPOSITS. FIGURES FOR AUSTRALIA. IN PAST YEAR. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received November 6, 10.55 a.m. CANBERRA, Nov. 6. An increase in deposits aggregating nearly £10,000,000 for the year ended September 30 is indicated for all savings banks in Australia by figures issued by the Commonwealth Statistician.
Deposits in the savings banks reached £212 556,000, of which the Commonwealth Savings Bank holds £125,066 - Von the Btate savings banks £B7,’490,000.
