CRASHED THROUGH BRIDGE.

CAR PASSENGER KILLED

FIVE OTHERS INJURED,

Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Nov. 4. One man was killed and five others were seriously injured when an open touring car plunged through tlie railing of a one-car bridge on a bend of the road from Albany to Auckland at 0.30 this morning The occupant of tlie car killed was Michael Stipich, 19 years of age, of Devonport. The other five occupants all received concussion and all are in a serious condition. They are: Richard Powell, 25, single; Noel Langton, 25, single; John Cogan, 20; Janies McGregor, 18; and Devonport Ross Jones, 16, all of Devonport. The six young men had been attending a dance at Albany and were returning home toward Devonport. The car hit the left-hand railing of the bridge and plunged 30 feet into tlie creek below. It came to rest upside down. Two of the men were thrown clear and the others were pinioned under the car, but fortunately at the time there was only a few inches of w r ater in the creek. Medical attention was obtained and a special ferry boat was chartered to take the injured men to Auckland Hospital.
