DRESSING SHELTERS.

(To the Editor.)

Sir, —I notice in your paper a movement to build two bathing or dressing shelters by the Manawatu River near the camp site. This is no doubt a very laudable object, but in my opinion care must be taken to build them in such a place where they can be under the watchful eye of the caretaker. I have in mind the dressing shelter that was built many years ago about 200 yards up the river from Fitzherbert bridge, alongside of what was known as Grey’s swimming pool. Owing to there being no caretaker, the place became dirty and uninviting, and eventually was pulled down. I am, etc., _ _ C. N. CLAUSEN. Palmerston North, November 2, 1934.
