BELOW AVERAGE.

Records kept by Mr F. Mason, Sandou Road, show that rain tell on 17 ■days during October for a total of 2.9 ins. The average for the month is 4.1 S ins., last month’s fall thus being 1.28 ins. below the average. The heaviest fall was .73 ins., recorded on October 15.

For the ten months of the year ended October 31 a total of 26.38 ins. has been recorded by Mr Mason, this being under the average.
