(I'ioin Our Own Correspondent.) FOX TON'. No. 1. Mr W. R. McKenzie, postmaster, resumed duty on .Monday, after being absent for some time owing to iserious illness and an operation. Mr and Mrs H. Osborne have returned to Foxton after a visit to Hamilton and Tauranga.

The vital statistics for October, with the figures for the corresponding period of last year shown in parentheses, are:— Births, 7 (8): deaths, nil (5); marriages, 1 (2): Maori births, 2 (2); Maori deaths, 2 (ml).

During October rain fell locally on 15 days, the total fall record being 5.41 inches'. The maximum daily fall was 88 points. The hottest day during the month had a temperature of 65 degrees, and the coldest day a temperature of 51 degrees. Symons won a guessing competition. A juvenile plain and fancy dress ball, organised by members of tlie Eoxton District High School Committee, was held in the Town Hall.
