Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Palmerston 1: North, report having held a very satisfactory clearing sale at Mangawhata on Tuesday last on account of Mr Robii ert Brown, when his two complete herds of high quality Jersey and Friesian cows in profit were disposed of : —There was a record representative attendance; not only was the local de-mand-strong, but clients from our t Dannevirke and Pahiatua branches t augmented the competition. Bidding irom the outset was spirited, the best . cows sold in advance of expectations r . f making up to £9 10s; 156 sound cows averaged £5 10s, the remainder of the |j offering comprising three-quarter cows ] bulls and yearlings. Quotations: Best j' sorts, £7 to £9 10s; good, £5 to £7; 1 medium, £4 to £5; three-quarter cows, hi £1 10s to £3 l0s ; yearling heifers, £2 j L jig - Friesian bulls, £3 ss; Jersey bulls, i‘ £4 ’ss to £4 10s. Seven-year mare, £39 1 10s • aged mare, £46; aged mare, £l6. 1 Implements and sundries sold freely at I satisfactory rates.
