ARCHDEACON OF RANGITIKEI.
CANON F. H. PETRIE APPOINTED
Rev. Canon F. H. Petrie, M.A., vicar of Feilding, has been appointed Archdeacon of Rangitikei, in succession to Yen. Archdeacon Innes-Jones, who retired from the ministry last month.
The son of a minister of the Church, Ardeacon Petrie was born in Aberdeen, Scotland, was made a deacon in 1898, and ' a priest in the following year, with a parish in his native country. In 1905 he went to Western Australia and was vicar of St. Albans, Highgate, for some time, leaving that part of the world for the Melanesian Islands, where he served as a missionary for two years. He was forced to resign from this work owing to a serious breakdown in health, and in 1909 he was appointed vicar of Jolmsonville. He left Johnsonville in 1919 for Roseneath, and in 1921 he succeeded Archdeacon Innes-Jones as vicar of St. John’s, Feilding. In 1925 he -was made a Canon of the Cathedral Chapter.
