JAPANESE WOOLLENS

COMPETITION IN TRADE. DEFENSIVE MEASURES URGED. STANDARDISED SALES SUGGESTED. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received October 31, 1.10 p.m. LONDON, Oct. 30. The Council of the International Wool Federation passed a resolution urging its members to request the respective Governments to consider applying quotas and other defensive measures against Japanese wool products owing to the rapid and alarming extension of Japanese exports at prices damaging the industries of member countries. The council also favoured standardised conditions for wool sales in the various countries, thus ensuring smoother international transactions.
