PAHIATUA

PAHIATUA, Oct. 29. Mrs Hilda May Odgers, wife of Mr W. J. Odgers, of Komakorau, and sister of Mr T. H. Verry and Miss C. Verry, Konini, passed away at Hamilton on October 24. Until seven years ago when she and her husband moved to Komakorau Mrs Odgers had lived at Konini, and Mangamutu, her parents, Mr and Mrs G. Verry, being early settlers of Konini. Mrs Odgers belonged to one of the pioneer families, her grandparents on both sides, Mrs and Mrs James Gibbs and Mr and Mrs Thomas Verry, being amongst some of the earliest arrivals in New Zealand, landing here in 1841 and 1842 respectively. Besides her husband, Mrs Odgers leaves five sons.
