QUEEN CARNIVAL.

Owing to a serious illness in the family, Miss Pearl Winiata, it is regretted to state has been compelled to withdraw from the position of City Band Queen in the forthcoming Combined Bands Queen Carnival. It is most regrettable that such a position should arise at this juncture, but tho band has been successful in securing the consent of Miss Amy Kareahana to accept nomination as Queen and everything is being done to make her candidature successful. Miss Kareahana has for some considerable time past assisted the band with its various functions and she will be entering the forthcoming contest with the utmost enthusiasm. Miss Kareahana will be present at future dances.
