NON-SUIT GRANTED.

IN COMPENSATION CLAIM. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, Oct. 31. Represented by counsel as a British seaman who had suffered injury m the Byrd Antarctic expedition, John lay lor Burt claimed compensation m the Arbitration Court for injuries allegedly sustained during his service with the expetition. Non-suit points, that there was no master and servant relationship, Burt being a joint venturer in the expedition, and that the Jacob Ruppert was not a New Zealand ship, were raised, while on the facts it was claimed by the defence that it was a trumped-up tale. Plaintiff was non-suited, the Court hearing only one of the defence s 16 witnesses.
