Received October 30, 8.5 a m MELBOURNE, Oct. 30. Amazement at the progress of Melbourne during the last 30 years since he left as a young man was expressed to-day by Mr Janies Mulcare, president of the Westland provincial branch of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union, who is an official guest of the Centenary Council. Mr Mulcare said that when he returned to Greymouth he would be as full of pride in his native city with its beautiful gardens and broad clean streets as any man could be.
