UNDEFENDED PETITIONS.

Undefended divorce cases were dealt with by His Honour Mr Justice Blair in the Supreme Court to day. George Hitchman, of Feilding (Mr D. C. Cullinane) sought a divorce from Ivy Myrtle Hitchman on the grounds of failure to comply with an order for the restitution of conjugal rights. Petitioner said in evidence that he was married to respondent at Dannevirke in February, 1910. There were four children of the marriage. In July of this year an order for the return of respondent to petitioner had been made, but she had hot done so. Petitioner asked for the custody of the four children. His wife, who had left him on June 2 of this year, had taken two with her. She now resides with her relatives in Shannon. A decree nisi was granted, petitioner being given the interim custody of two children and the wife the interim custody of the other two. The decree is to be moved absolute at the expiration of three iponths. His Honour directed that express notice would have to be given 4he wife of petitioner’s desire to secure the custody of the four children if the request was to be pursued.
