FIRE IN WARKWORTH

AUCKLAND, Oct. 28. Business premises known as Hamilton’s Building in the main street of Warkworth were destroyed by an early morning fire. The occupants were Mr J. L. Buchanan, land agent, Mr J. Williamson, bootmaker, and Mr B. Hamilton, draper. A bucket brigade failed to quell the flames, but saved the adjacent premises. Mr Hamilton is a heavy loser, a large quantity of uninsured Christmas stock having just arrived. The building is owned by Mr Hamilton and insured for £4OO. Mr Williamson’s stock is insured for £l5O. Mr Buchanan is not insured.
