FEILDING SALE.
CATTLE PRICES DROP. SHEEP VALUES FIRM. the yarding of station cattle proved too big 1 for the demand at the Feilding saJe yesterday, a dull sale taking place for all classes, with a corresponding drop in prices compared with tho previous week. Over the average tho decline was from 5s to 10s per head on tho previous week’s values. Some exceptionally nice lines of grown P.A. and Hereford bullocks came forward, but the quotations for these did not reach the owners’ ideas of values, and no sales took place. Store cows and heifers for fattenlng purposes sold relatively better than the male entry, but hero again prices were below those of the previous week. The yearling P.A. heifers submitted were mainly good lines, but not many wore sold, prices for these being down 7s 6d to 10s per head. Fat cattle opened with a brisk display of bidding, but tho supply outstayed the demand and once butchers’ requirements were filled prices eased. Store sheep, tho yarding being mainly hoggets, again sold well, and fat sheep held firm at recent rates. Dairy stock met with a slow sale.
