TIRITEA.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) TIRITEA, Oct. 26.

The October meeting of the Women’s Institute was held at “Bonne View,” the residence of Mrs F. N. Andrews. The attendance was not quite as large as usual. Mrs Andrews presided and extended a welcome to all present. The motto for the day was “The Best Time to Worry Is To-morrow.” Owing to the demonstrator for the afternoon being unable to be present, Mrs W. Pinfold further instructed members oil pine-needle work. A competition for the host plate of pikelets, judged by Mesdames Smith and Kyle, resulted: Mrs Kilgarriff 1, Miss It. Kilsby 2, Miss Kilgarriff 3. Mrs A. Brill also won a competition. Prizes were kindly donated by Mrs McFarlauc. It was decided to enter for the potato growing competition again this year. Items were contributed by Mesdames L. Hastings, A. Brill and Petrie, and were much enjoyed. The hostesses, Mrs Kilgarriff and Miss Kilsby, served a dainty afternoon tea.
