Awards of the Lady Stout Bursary were made by the council of Victoria University College last night to Miss Mary Hurstliouse and Miss Margaret A. Harding, on the recommendation of the professorial board. No award was made last year, and the board’s recommendation that two be made this year was adopted. The bursary, founded by Lady Stout in commemoration of her golden wedding, is awarded for qualities of leadership, debating powers, moral force of character, fondness for and success in outdoor sports, and literary and scholastic attainments.
