MAGISTRATE’S COURT.

WITHDRAWAL OF COUNSEL. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Oct. 25. The trial of two brothers, Arthur Charles Cudby and Mervyn John Cudby, in the Supreme Court on five charges of housebreaking took a somewhat dramatic turn toward the end, when counsel for accused, Mr R. H. Boys, begged leave to withdraw from the case, as the evidence which" had been given conflicted with the instructions in his brief. This was followed by Arthur Cudby abruptly withdrawing liis previous plea of not guilty. He said he wished to enter a plea of guilty on all five charges, and withdrew his allegations against the police. He was remanded for sentence. In the case of. the other brother, the jury, after an absence of 20 minutes, returned a verdict of guilty. Both men will be sentenced on Saturday.
