CHARGE OF RECEIVING.

ACCUSED FOUND GUILTY. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Oct. 24. The sensational robbery of jewellery from the Karangahape Road shop of James Pascoe, Ltd., on September 20 was recalled by the prosecution in the Supreme Court of Hilda Jackson, a domestic, aged 33. Accused was cnarged with receiving a quantity of jewellery, valued at £1378, knowing it to have been dishonestly obtained. Detective-Sergeant McHugh described breaking into a room at accused’s boarding-house. When asked where she got the jewellery from, accused answered; “That is for you to find oud.” When about to be searched, accused took a gold chain from the toe of her shoe and handed it to witness. More articles of jewellery were found in a linen-press and behind the wallboards. Mr Justice Herdman said the extreme simplicity of the issue made the jury’s task comparatively easy. The jury found accused guilty and she was remanded for sentence.
