A DELIGHTED FAMILY.

AT SCOTT’S HOME. SCENES OF EXCITEMENT. Received October 24, 8.5 a.m. LONDON, Oct. 24. C. W. A. Scott’s father, Mr Kennedy Scott, ' a well-known musician, was playing a rollicking march at the piano when he was interviewed, concerning his son’s victory. Scott’s mother has for a long time been unwell and his father says the news of their son’s achievement has done more than all the doctors. It has put new life into her. Scott’s wife was overjoyed and his daughter was rushing around tilling everyone “How wonderful Daddy is.” Mr Kennedy Scott said: We are all hysterical with sheer delight. The flight staggers the brain. I want to emphasise it wasn’t a one-man show. Charles’s first tribute is to/his many helpers. Even those who failed spurred him on to victory. lam telephoning him this afternoon.” Scott’s father said: It is just wonderful and it seems incredible that he is 12,000 miles away. It seems like going to another world. Thank Heaven it is in this.

Mrs Black said it was the most wonderful thing in the world. “It seems as though they travelled on a magic carpet. It will be difficult to rest, we are so excited, though we were awake all night long.” Asked if she was ’phoning Australia, Mrs Black said she thought of doing so, but her son must be terribly tired, so slie had better send a cable and not bother him by telephoning today. Black’s father said: Nothing can make me prouder than I am.
