THE MANAWATU ’PLANE.
FLIERS LEAVE RANGOON.
A FINE PERFORMANCE
Favoured by good fortune and exercising their undoubted ability as pilots, Squadron-Leader M. C. McGregor and Mr H. C. Walker, the Manawatu entrants, who are flying a Miles Hawk machine, bearing the air race registered No. 2, are putting up a splendid performance. The latest advice states that the airmen arrived at Rangoon at 6.49 p.m. (Greenwich mean time). They departed at 2.20 a.m. for Batavia, where they will spend the night. The aviators had made only a short stay at Calcutta, where they had arrived at 12.34 p.m. (local time) yesterday from Allahabad, whence they had proceeded from Jodhpur. McGregor said that sleepliness was the only thing bothering him, but he intended to push on to Rangoon before getting a good night’s rest..
