SCOTT’S TERRIFIC SPEED
PROGRESS OF AIR RACE
Maintaining liis terrific speed in the Centenary air race, C. W. A. Scott (Australia), who is accompanied by T. CampbellBlack, arrived at Singapore, and took off almost immediately for Darwin, via Koepang, the last hop over the ocean. He is closely pursued by Pannentier and Moll (Holland).
OFF TO DARWIN. SCOTT LEAVING SINGAPORE. LEADING THE FIELD. Received October 22, 1.30 pm. SINGAPORE, Oct. 22. C. W. A. Scott arrived here at 10.43 p.m. (Greenwich mean time). He landed with heavy smoke issuing from the exhaust. It was feared the ’plane was afire, but everything is in order. He is leaving in half an hour for Darwin. Later. Scott has left for Koepang, en route to Darwin.
