LANDINGS IN FRANCE. BAD WEATHER MET. LONDON, Oct. 20. Stack and Turner were forced down at Abbeville at 9.10 a.m. in bad weather. They made a perfect landing in a fog. Stack said he would not resume until the conditions improve. A shortcircuit occurred prior to the landing, but has now been repaired. Stack and Turner later arrived at Le Bourget and will resume to-morrow. The time spent at Le Bourget counts as flying time, as it is an unofficial check point. Brook and Miss Lay landed at Plassis Luzarches, near Paris, at 9.15 a.m. owing to bad weather. Brook telephoned to Le Bourget requesting a weather report and a mecha.nic. Hewett and Kay were forced down at Boulogne at 11.26 a.m., oil account of engine trouble. Parer and Hemswortli were also forced down at Boulogne at 11.40 owing to engine trouble. Owing to the radiator leaking, Parer’s engine overheated. He landed, filled up with water, and continued to Abbeville, where be is awaiting a mechanic. Repairs will occupy one to two hours. Wright and Polando have arrived at Lyons. Asjes and Geysendorffer landed at Leipzig for ten minutes and then flew on. Arrivals at Marseilles were:—Woods and Bennett, at 10.24 a.m.; McGregor and Walker, 11.15 a.m.; Melrose, 12.8 p.m.; Wright and Polando, 12.20 p.m. ; the Stodarts, 12.28 p in.; Hansen and Jensen, 1.5 p.m.; Gilman and Baines, 2.15 p.m. Wright and Polando became delayed at Marseilles through engine trouble. The Stodarts had a cockpit window broken. They said they experienced very rough weather and bad a terrible time. Nevertheless they, would continue for Rome without repairs. Gilman is delayed with carburettor trouble, involving the dismantling of the engine. Later advices state that Brook and Miss Lay landed at lstres at 5.10 p.m.
