HAUPTMANN TO BE TRIED

NEW YORK, Oct. 20

Bernard Hauptmann’s legal manoeuvring to escape trial for the Lindbergh murder, proved futile tonight when the Appeal Court upheld the Lower Court’s dismissal of the habeas corpus writ. Hauptmann was immediately taken to Flemington (New Jersey) where the trial will be held next month.
