AUSTRALIAN CRICKETERS.

NO VISIT TO DOMINION

Received. September 21, 8.5 a..m. MELBOURNE, Sept. 20. At the annual meeting of the Cricket Board of Control to-day Mr R. A. Oxlade was re-elected chairman and Mr W. C. Bull treasurer. Dr. Ramsay Mailer announced his retirement from the board after 24 years’ membership. The board intimated it was unable to comply with a request to send either an Australian or a Sheffield Shield team to New Zealand. The reasons advanced for refusing a visit to New Zealand were that after the great'strain of the British tour the Test players would require a rest after their return to Australia, and to send a State team would upset the arrangements for the Sheffield Shield matches.
