ARMS IN MADRID.
STATE TAKES PRECAUTIONS,
MADRID, Sept. 20. Following the discovery of the possession by the Socialists of substantial supplies of smuggled arms, also documents containing elaborate plans - for a revolt, the Goverhment has taken drastic precautionary measures. Senor Sampa, the Premier, late at night visited President Zamora, and reported the situation. Tlie Government is convinced Left Party supporters now possess all types of weapons, the estimated cost of which is at least £138,000. Civic guards yesterday stopped a lorry loaded with rifles, ammunition and liquid flame-throwers. The authorities also discovered on tho outskirts of Madrid a chemical laboratory for the manufacture of explosives.
