WANGANUI CHAMPIONSHIP. THE QUALIFYING ROUNDS. With a number of Manawatu players competing, the Wanganui Golf Club’s annual tournament opened at the Belmont links yesterday. The course was in good order, but a boisterous wind made conditions trying. The leading scores in the two qualifying rounds were:—L. Cathro 76—77—153, B. M. Silk 77—78—155, H. Wills 79—78—157, V. B. For the Belmont Handicap the next sixteen to qualify were headed by D. Murchie, of tlie Wanganui Club, while included among visitors in this section were A H. Warren (Feathefston) N. Ingham (Palmerston North), T. Louisson (Palmerston North), K. Glendining (Palmerston North), and N. H. Am on (Bulls).
