WHALE RESEARCH.
IN SOUTHERN WATERS.
Received September 20, 8.45 a.m. LONDON, Sept. 19.
The steamer William Scoresby is departing shortly for the Falkland Islands, where it will cruise in the southern whale grounds, marking whales with miniature darts on which are stamped the date and position in order to investigate the whales’ movements.
