DEATH IN LONDON.
NEW ZEALAND INVENTOR. Per Press Association. , GISBORNE, Sept. 20. Mr Frank Forbes Lowndes, the patentee of the Lowndes life-saving appliance which was tested in Auckland Harbour several years ago. died in London early this month. Deceased endeavoured to exploit his device in Britain, with some success. Ho was formerly a seafaring man, hut settled at_ Gisborne and had a successful carrying business prior to his departure for England to market liis patent.
