PERSONAL.
The Wanganui Education Board yesterday passed a resolution of sympathy with Mr M. H. Oram in his illness, and expressing the hope that he would soon be restored to health.
At a meeting in Palmerston North this week of the Maori Commission set up by the General Synod of the Anglican Church, among those who attended were Archdeacon Hawkins and Archdeacon Simpkin, of Auckland, and Canon Williams, of Wanganui.
Mr G. A. Troup, of Wellington, who is chairman of the No. 6 Transport Licensing Authority, which continued its sitting at Palmerston North to-day is at present slightly indisposed and was unable to attend. Mr W. I. Armstrong presided in. Mr Troup’s absence.
Mr F. Adeane, of Waipawa, has been appointed senior employment officer under the Soldiers’ Civil Re-estab-lishment League. Mr Adeane left New Zealand with the Main Body, and served for four years and five months in Gallipoli and France, gaining his commission on the field.
