WHAKARONGO.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) AVHAKARONGO, Sept. 19. There was an exceptionally large attendance at the fortnightly euchre and dance, held in the Whakarongo Hall on Tuesday night. Tho prizes were annexed by Mrs Goro (lli games) and Mr R. Puklowski (lli); consolation prizes went, to Mrs Morris and Mr I. Crawford. The following players were winners of the points prizes; Mrs Puklowski (81a games). Miss L. Crawford (77A), Mrs Radomski (77); Mr Clarence Puklowski (82), Mr G. Dixon (79), Mr R. Puklowski (77j. Supper was followod by a danco, tho niuuio being supplied by a professional orchestra. Mr H. Gore acted as Mr L. Harrowfiold, of Gisborne, is the guest of his parents, Mr and Mrs A. Harrowfield. . Influenza is very prevalent in this district at, present. . Mr R. Knudsen, who was an inmate ot the Hospital suffering from a scalded eye, is now home and making a splendid recovery. Mr C. Puklowski, sustained an eye injury while playing cricket last week.
