NEW RARE METAL.
DISCOVERY IN AMERICA. Received September 11, 12.10 p.m. NEAV YORK, Sept. 10. A Cleveland (Ohio) message states that the first isolation of proactinium, the rarest metal known and worth one million dollars an ounce, has been announced by the American Chemical SoCie The metal is silvery and radio-active, and its rays are more penetrating than those of radium.
